Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Nuzzbit, the Android news app with package name nuzzbit.boringgapps, handles information. The app is operated by Pratyush Texports (“we”, “us”, or “our”). Our contact details appear below. This policy covers our app; independently operated news sites and other services have their own policies.
1. Information handled by the app
Information stored on your device
Nuzzbit saves your selected country, language, categories, appearance and reading preferences, narration settings, bookmarked story identifiers and copies of bookmarked stories, read-story identifiers, and a cached news feed. These support your reading experience and let the app display previously downloaded content. Your selected country is a preference; the app does not request GPS or precise-location permission.
Usage events and installation identifier
The app generates a random installation identifier and stores it locally. It sends app-open events and story-view events to https://nuzzbit.boringgapps.com/api/analytics. Each event contains the event name, installation identifier, and, for a story view, the story identifier. This identifier is not your advertising ID, phone number, or account name. It can link activity from the same installation, so these events are pseudonymous, not necessarily anonymous. This version does not include an in-app analytics opt-out.
Network requests and technical information
When the app requests news, images, page metadata, or analytics, the receiving server necessarily receives your IP address and request information, such as the requested URL and request headers. Hosting and infrastructure providers may record request times, response codes, user-agent information, and security logs. Loading images or retrieving article metadata may contact third-party servers before you open the full report.
Information you choose to send
If you contact us, we receive the contact details and message content you provide. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.
2. Why information is used
- Retrieve and display news and related media.
- Remember your reading choices, saved stories, and read-story status.
- Provide narration and playback controls.
- Understand app usage through app-open and story-view events.
- Respond to support, privacy, and content-correction requests.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and protect the service, and meet applicable legal obligations.
The current app has no account-registration, payment, or advertising-SDK integration. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or precise location. The current app does not implement targeted advertising or a mechanism for selling personal information.
3. Narration, notifications, and sharing
Narration: Nuzzbit passes article text to the text-to-speech engine selected on your device. Some voices work locally; network voices may send text and technical information to the speech provider under that provider’s terms and privacy policy. Nuzzbit does not record your voice or require microphone access.
Notifications: Where required by Android, we request notification permission for narration playback controls. You can refuse or revoke this permission through Android Settings.
Sharing: When you choose Share, Android lets you select another app. The selected app receives the story text and link you choose to share and handles them under its own policy. Nuzzbit does not need your contact list to use this feature.
4. Other services and disclosures
News publishers, image hosts, hosting providers, and speech providers may process data needed for their services. Full reports opened in the in-app browser may run scripts and use cookies or browser storage. Those publishers control their own pages and data practices. External links do not mean that Nuzzbit controls or endorses the linked service.
We may disclose information where required by applicable law or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, investigate abuse, or maintain security. Any such disclosure must be limited to its lawful purpose. We do not include a third-party advertising or analytics SDK in the current Android build; the first-party usage-event requests described above are separate.
5. Storage, retention, and deletion
On-device information: Preferences and saved/read-story records remain until changed or removed, app storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Cached content may be refreshed or removed as the app operates. To clear local app data, use Android Settings → Apps → Nuzzbit → Storage → Clear data (wording varies by device). This resets your preferences and removes local bookmarks and reading history.
Backups: Android backup and device-transfer features are enabled in the current app configuration. Depending on your device and backup settings, app data may be copied to your backup provider or restored later. Clearing app storage or uninstalling does not necessarily remove existing backups. Manage those separately through your device or backup provider.

6. Your choices and rights
You can change reading preferences, remove bookmarks, disable automatic narration, choose another speech engine or voice, revoke notification permission, and clear local app data. There is no Nuzzbit account to close in this version.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to a relevant supervisory authority. Contact us using the details below. We may need proportionate verification before disclosing or changing information. Because no user account is required, we may need information sufficient to identify the relevant records; do not send passwords or unrelated identity documents.
7. Security and international processing
The configured Nuzzbit news and analytics endpoints use HTTPS. External article and media addresses are supplied with the content and may use different security settings. No app, network transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Children
Nuzzbit contains general news that may include mature subjects. [OWNER MUST CONFIRM INTENDED AGE AUDIENCE, DISTRIBUTION REGIONS, AND ANY PARENTAL CONSENT OR CHILD-DATA REQUIREMENTS.] If you believe a child has provided information that should not have been collected, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action. This notice alone does not establish an age-verification or parental-consent process.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or our practices change. The published version will identify its effective date. Where required by law, material changes will be communicated and any necessary consent obtained before the relevant new processing begins.
